The human body is an amazing work of art, and interpretations of beauty can differ greatly from person to person. That is why Blair Plastic Surgery believes in offering a variety of breast implant options.

Experienced Pennsylvania plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Louton and his breast enlargement staff are here to help you make an informed decision about your type of implant. To learn more about the different types of breast implants available for your procedure, please contact our breast surgery offices today by calling (800) 833-3888.

Saline vs. Silicone

Both saline and silicone implants are FDA-approved for use in breast surgery procedures. Saline implants are filled with a saltwater solution in liquid form, surrounded by a shell made from silicone. If you are not sure how large you would like to go, saline implants offer flexibility because they can be inserted pre-filled, or may be filled during surgery.

With silicone breast implants, silicone gel is encased in a pre-filled silicone implant shell. Dr. Louton will show you examples of each during your personalized consultation, let you feel the difference, and show you how the results compare in before and after breast augmentation photos.

Breast Implant Shape and Texture

Dr. Louton offers various shapes of implants to choose from, including round and teardrop. Implant surfaces may vary, too, so you can choose from smooth versus textured.

If you are still unsure of your ideal cup size, do not worry. Our plastic surgeon and his staff can help you decide how large to go after reviewing your breast augmentation goals and hearing your concerns.
