For those patients that are looking for a greater tightening effect and/or require a more aggressive approach to treat severely sun damaged and deeply wrinkled or scarred skin, a laser skin resurfacing procedure with an ablative skin laser may be the perfect solution. Ablative resurfacing is performed in our on-site licensed surgical suite under local anesthesia with light sedation. The procedure can take several minutes to one hour in length and may be limited to smaller areas such as around the mouth or eyes.

Since 1990, Blair Plastic Surgery has achieved excellent and consistent results in the treatment of deep wrinkles and sun damage with an Erbium laser. The versatile Profile Contour Laser™ is an Erbium laser that enables our board certified Pennsylvania plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Louton to tailor laser resurfacing procedures to each individual patient.

Laser skin resurfacing can be used in the traditional manner to ablatively remove the epidermis layer or the beam can be fractionated to send columns of laser light deep in the skin without the complete removal of the epidermis. The latter technique allows for quicker healing time but may require additional treatments for equivalent results.

Matrix Fractional CO2 Laser

The Matrix Fractional CO2 Laser is designed to quickly and effectively deliver the benefits of fractional laser treatment, including:

  • Reduction of wrinkles
  • Smoothing of fine lines
  • Treatment of acne scars
  • Diminishing of pigmented lesions
  • Tightening of sagging skin
The Matrix Fractional CO2 Laser is highly adjustable, allowing us to custom-design your fractional resurfacing procedure to get the ideal combination of quicker results and shorter recovery time. Although best results always depend on multiple treatments, we can talk to you about your preferences to determine whether the ideal treatment plan is fewer but more aggressive treatments or more but gentler ones.

Diolite 532nm Vascular Laser

This is the treatment of choice to eliminate superficial facial spider veins, the small red broken veins often seen on nose and cheeks of individuals suffering with rosacea or individuals with history of extensive sun damage to those areas. While the Diolite is not for use on leg veins, it is excellent for removing cherry angiomas (raised red mole-like lesions) and small brown spots such as freckles, sun spots and pigmented keratoses found anywhere on the body. The treatment is precise and non-traumatic to the surrounding tissue, leaving virtually no scar.

Nd;Yag 1064nm Leg Vein Laser

The Lumenis Nd:Yag 1064nm laser is used for the treatment of spider veins on the legs. It can also be used for stubborn larger veins on the face usually seen at the base and sides of the nose. Treatments may cause some swelling and blistering which resolves quickly with excellent results.
