The tummy area is one of the most difficult areas to shape, even with stringent diet and exercise routines. For many men and women, a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, offers a quick and affordable solution. This procedure is especially popular with women who struggle to tone and tighten the stretched abdominal skin and muscles after pregnancy. If you are tired of feeling self-conscious about excess fat and sagging skin in the stomach area, Dr. Robert Louton can help you get a flatter, firmer tummy appearance.

To learn more about how a tummy tuck can help you with your body contouring needs, please contact Blair Plastic Surgery today.

Your Tummy Tuck Consultation

The abdominoplasty procedure can improve the appearance of excess abdominal fat, skin, and tissue in any healthy adult. Pennsylvania plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Louton will do a full health evaluation during your first visit with us. He will go over all of the benefits and risks of abdominoplasty as well as show you multiple before and after photographs of his past abdominoplasty patients. All your tummy tuck questions will be answered one on one.

The Tummy Tuck Surgery Day

The majority of our patients choose the complete or "full" tummy tuck, performed under general anesthesia. During this two-to-four-hour procedure, an incision is made near the pubic hairline, stretching from hip to hip, low enough so that a bikini easily hides the minimal scar. Dr. Louton then tightens any sagging or separated vertical muscles in the abdomen and reduces abdominal fat using liposuction. Most tummy tucks are done in our fully-licensed surgical facility, but can be performed in the hospital if you prefer. For some patients, a "mini" tummy tuck involving a smaller incision and local anesthesia may be an alternative.

On average, tummy tuck patients return to work in two to four weeks and resume strenuous activity in four to six weeks. Patients can expect significant fading and flattening of incision-site scars at anywhere from three months to two years. As the healing process comes to completion, you will be able to enjoy a smaller, more toned tummy appearance — and like the way you look in clothes and bathing suits.

If you are considering enhancing your body shape with the help of plastic surgery, Dr. Robert Louton is your best choice. Blair Plastic Surgery is the cosmetic surgery center you can trust to give you the right results.
