Am I a good candidate for the liposuction procedure?

Most patients who desire to get rid of unwanted fat with liposuction are good candidates. However, Dr. Louton must do a full evaluation in order to determine if the procedure is right for you. Factors like your age, current health status, weight, and existing health conditions must be taken into account to ensure you can undergo the surgery with minimal risk.

Liposuction is not a quick fix for patients hoping to lose a large number of pounds. Before you are cleared for surgery, you should have realistic expectations about what this body contouring procedure can do for you. You must also be committed to engaging in healthy diet and fitness routines in order to maintain your liposuction results.

Will the skin tighten by itself or do you have to remove skin?

For some patients with good skin elasticity, the removal of small volumes of fat is enough to produce dramatic appearance enhancement. For patients who have poor skin elasticity, skin excision may be used in conjunction with fat removal to achieve optimal results.

Can I afford to have liposuction?

Blair Plastic Surgery works diligently to keep our liposuction costs affordable for local patients. We accept many different forms of payment and offer financing options for patients who want to pay gradually.

Are liposuction results considered permanent?

During the liposuction process, Dr. Louton removes a number of fat cells. These fat cells will never "regrow," but existing fat cells have the potential to expand and cause weight gain if you are not keeping your calorie intake and energy output properly in balance. After surgery, Dr. Louton will give you the tools you need to maintain a healthy lifestyle through very specific nutrition and fitness information.

How long does the liposuction healing process take?

The healing process is different for every patient. Dr. Louton will give you a set of general guidelines to follow after surgery, but it is important that you check in and report your personal progress so we can adjust the recommendations as needed.
